The napkin has been designed using a technique involves carving designs into fine-grained wood by hand, which are then layered to create the scene. Each scene involves at least three blocks; the skill of the block printers is to judge by eye how they will combine to give the effect of a single impression. Because of the hand-crafted nature of these table linens, each one will be slightly different. It is these variations that make them special and show the artisan skill involved in their creation.
